Eat, Sleep, Hunt, Repeat

That's what my husband and I have done for the last week! Last Friday, I slept in and headed for camp around 10:15 a.m. I arrived with the dog around 11 a.m. Twenty minutes later Paul arrived and announced he had gotten a buck. It is pictured here. I hunted Friday evening and saw a small spiked buck. Saturday morning, I got up and hunted. I saw the spiked buck again and a bigger buck. I wasn't sure if he was legal at first, since I only saw him from the side. By the time he had gotten around my stand, I knew he was legal but couldn't get a clean shot. Over the last few days, I have seen several small bucks and lots of does. Sunday, maybe when I get back to camp, I might get a chance at the big one.

I have to shout out to my husband of 11 years. Today is our anniversary and since he made an appointment for the cats shots, we came home a little early. We are going to go out to dinner to celebrate. For us, this is a big deal. If you really know us we are not ones to go out often. The cats are happy that we are home. As I post this, Leon is sitting curled in my lap. Seamus had a great time with us in the woods. He really has perked up. I now have hopes that he will be with us for months to come.
