What a week

I had a busy week this week. It was our Vacation Bible School which we call "Go Orange". Here is a video wrap-up.



I helped out four days and then worked Thursday night. On Friday, I went to a retirement party for a woman who has worked at my library system for 22 years. She has been a librarian for close to forty years. When I called my husband to tell him I was running late that evening, he answered this is Who? I don't have a wife, I haven't seen her in days! Although I know he was kidding, I know that I need to make sure that I spend time with the person I have chosen to spend the rest of my life with. It was a good week but I need to make sure that I make the time to spend with him. He is the most important person in my life beside my Lord and Savior.

The "Marys" in my life

This morning Rob preached about Mary's simple faith in God. He read the first Chapter of Luke. It reminded me of the two important women in my life and how they demonstrated their faith in our Father. Saturday was the 107th anniversary of my Grandmother's birth. She was extremely important in my development of faith and coming to the Lord. She had many adversities in her life but her faith helped her live a Christ centered life. She was widowed at the age of 33. She did not have a high school diploma. In fact, she dropped out in the 8th grade. She demonstrated her faith in the Lord by the simple actions she did. Not to say that she was perfect. She had her failings. Throwing ink bottles at her son in a moment of anger and wanting to not give a birthday gift to my father because he walked out on my mother.

The Second person was my mother. She again had her own faults and failings. She gave the the gift of knowing Christ and explaining her own failings in her faith. She always believed in the Lord, but at times did not follow what he had set out for her life. She married a person who did not believe in Christ but not even in God. Her example of following Christ when she did and insuring that my sister and I had a Catholic education made me the person I am today.

I miss both of these strong women. As I look at Mary's faith and what she endured. I remember these two special women and the impact like Mary's faith has had on me.
