Another Week

From covington out...

It was short week but it seemed to last forever. I am thankful for Patricia for offering to work today. I will be working 13 days straight after next Sunday. I spent a good part of the morning petting Seamus and just enjoying him. He has had a good week with the cooler weather but it is getting warmer. Paul has started setting posts for our privacy fence. Our neighbor behind us has cleared most of his land so we can see right into the back of his house. We have lived 10 years on our six acres without seeing any of our neighbors and have enjoyed the privacy. I'll try and post later in the week.

The past and the future...

The past -
Last night Paul and I went to my 25th high school reunion. It was nice to see a lot of old classmates. I haven't seen some since graduation. I was able to catch up with one of my close friends from those days, Michelle Wright. I haven't seen her since her wedding day some 16 years ago. Saint Pius has changed in a lot of ways.. no homecoming floats but in other ways it seems just like yesterday. No matter how long it has been or how infrequent I go to the school, it is really home and community is very tight and alive. There were three sometimes four generations back and tailgating like a college team. Go Golden Lions!! St. Pius

The future -
I am continuing to get all my stuff together for the final intensive in Baltimore for ELI. I have been working on my resume and cover letter for one of the final exercises.

On the home front..
A couple of days ago, I woke up to see one of our deer targets had lost it's head. Apparently, a buck had gotten in the back yard and decided it didn't like the targets. It attacked them leaving them in various forms of disarray.

It's been a crazy few months. Richard finished up with the addition. It looks good and Paul and I are enjoying the added rooms. My ELI project has kept me very busy. The surveys are complete and are now being distributed. Next week the branches will conduct the surveys. We will also have a staff focus group. As I sit here writing this the wind is blowing hard outside. Where did that hint of Spring go? Two weeks ago we were on vacation and we planted half of our garden. We lost it all last week in the frigid temps.

It's been a busy few days. Work on Tuesday was crazy. Was it a full moon?? Happy birthday Christopher (a few days late!) So you are finally 18. I went to choir practice on Tuesday evening and church on Wednesday. It was the first time all year I've been to 863. The dry wall guy is finished so now comes the finished trim. Hopefully Richard is doing ok and he'll be back later in the week to do the trim.

As you can see, I added a few pictures. My first buck was taken back in November. I have been hunting for over 13 years and finally took my first buck. The picture of my house is one taken about 4 years ago during the last real snow we had in Covington.

On the home addition front.... the dry wall guy worked yesterday while I was at work. He applied a second coat of mud on the rooms and was supposed to come back today to popcorn the ceilings. Richard (our contractor) had his father in-law come by to babysit him. He stayed for two hours and the guy never showed up. Around noon, the dry wall guy showed up and said the liquid to do the popcorn wouldn't be ready until tomorrow. He picked up the other dry wall sheets and left.

Just getting started...

Hi-
This is my first post to our new blog. My husband and I live on 6 acres in the woods. In the near feature I will be posting some pictures to show our house. We are in the process of adding on to our house. (1/3 increase over our original size). Yesterday they plugged up the last of the window and added the heating and air. It's only temporarily set up but at least we aren't freezing any longer.
